Tips To Increase Your Self Confidence

Self confidence is a sign of your presence of mind and how strong is your mind to face any obstacles in your life to become successful at the workplace, business or even in personal life. When one's self confidence is high, you feel successful and capable of accomplishing anything.

Your level of self confidence will be reflected in many ways, like the way you talk, decision making, behaviour, body language etc.etc.. Although many of the factors affecting self confidence are beyond your control, there are a number of things you can consciously do to build self confidence.

1. Recognize Your Insecurities
What makes you ashamed of yourself? This could be anything from acne, regrets, emotional abuse (past or present) from a loved ones or friends. Talk about it with friends and loved ones. Get to the root of the problem, focus on it and understand that you need to resolve each issue before you can move on. Remember that nobody is perfect. Even the most confident people have insecurities. At some point in any of our lives, we may feel that we lack of something. That is reality. Learn that life is full of bumps down the road.

2. Love Yourself
It will help if you understand that self confidence comes from self awareness. It’s really very important to love yourself, and to know who you really are. Look at yourself in the mirror and smile. Admire your beauty and be happy for what you are. Talking to yourself in the mirror can build self confidence because many people are too embarrassed to compliment themselves.

3. Always Think Positive
Avoid self pity and sympathy of others. There's no reason to consider yourself inferior to others and never allow others to criticize you. Always speak positively about yourself, about your future, and about your progress. You cannot please everyone all the time, and some of these people may deter you to advance. Surround yourself with people who will support and make you happier.

4. Pay Attention To Your Physical Appearence
One of the most common things that holds people back from being confident is their physical appearance. It is very important and when you take the time to make sure that you are well groomed and dressed nicely. It just feels good when you are wearing your best clothes, well groomed, and surrounded by a clean environment.

5. Take Care of Your Health
Exercise and eat healthy food. This will help you have a better body image. You can also try taking a martial arts or fitness classes.  These will help you to relax your muscles, increase your strength and energize your brain.If you’re out of shape, you’ll feel insecure, unattractive, and less energetic. By working out, you improve your physcial appearance, energize yourself, and accomplish something positive. Having the discipline to work out not only makes you feel better, it increases your self confidence.

6. Good Postures
Don't underestimate the power of having good, upright posture. Your posture says a lot about you as a person. If someone is feeling insecure or without self confidence it is very easy to notice by the slumping of their shoulders and the way they drop their chin and eye lines. Walk with your shoulders back, your head up and walk quickly. It does not only improve your appearance but also lightens your movements, improves your health, and lifts your mood. Perfect posture creates an air of self confidence that can create success on many levels.

7.  Boost Yourself
Read more and try to gain more knowledge from sources like motivational books, blogs and websites. The more you learn, the more you gain your self confidence. Try to attend good motivating courses which you may feel will improve your self confidence and lead you to the steps of success.

8. Wear A Smile On Your Face
Smiles are contagious. When you smile at others, they tend to return the favor. A smile can have a positive impact on someone who is having a bad day. By smiling, you'll attract other smiling positive people  the kind of people who will help you fulfill your dreams.

9. Set Out Your Goals
Know what you want. And, it is very important to set goals that goes high enough to get you where you want in life, but at the same time it should be realistic too. When you lose focus just remind yourself that you have achieved many times before and you can do so now. Identify your successes and give yourself credits for your successes.

10. Help Others
Help other people, this might seem strange for you, but it really will increase your self confidence. If you help other people achieve their goals, they will feel gratitude to you and will see you as someone they can trust, this will increase your self esteem and you will feel much better about your self image.

11. Speak up
Build up your communications and public speaking skills. When you talk in a large group meetings, talk loudly and clearly. Speak confidently and do not mumble. You have to be comfortable with yourself , but you also need to be considerate and allow others to be comfortable with you. Do what you believe to be right, even if others mock or criticize you for it. This will develop your self confidence that will make you the wise, inspiring and successful leader you want to be. With this self confidence, you attract the people and things into your life that you want and need. And you also inspire self confidence in others.

12. Master More Skills
You gain self confidence by mastering new skills on education or  job skills that help you meet your needs. Believe in your talents and capabilities regardless of what everyone else thinks. No one knows you better, and no one understands you more. It’s all in you, the ability to transform yourself into a skillful person and implement them more effectively.

13. Meditate Always
Meditation is so powerful that reduces anxiety, depression, moodiness, irritability and brings greater emotional stability. It helps to develop the willpower, boosts the level of self confidence and helps foster a positive attitude.
